FAITH IN FITNESS
For quite some time, industry has separated the phrase ‘faith and fitness’ distinguishing between the two. OK, Stop It! From now on the two words are interrelated, Faith IN Fitness. Faith, defined as the full confidence and confirmation of the things we hope for and the proof (evidence) of the things we cannot see or sense yet. By plugging faith into our fitness goals, we must first have full confidence that we are made in the image of God. We must be confident that by the stripes of Jesus, we are already healed. When attaining our fit goals we must be certain that if we consistently exercise and eat right, it will have a positive effect to our blood pressure. Faith that the more we do cardiovascular exercises, the stronger our hearts will get – which will decrease our chances of heart disease and failure. We should be confident that although we may be obese right now, working out every day will allow us to eventually lose weight. We have to understand, that if we were to eat our breads and other carbohydrates earlier during our workday (breakfast), it will allow our bodies to utilize them as energy as opposed to storing them, from eating them later in the day when our metabolism is slowing down. In addition to front-loading our carbs; cutting back on our sweet foods and changing from ‘white’ to ‘wheat’ will aide us in curing our own diabetes. “The body was created to do God’s will and made to heal itself.”

Fitness, defined as a state or general condition of being physically and mentally healthy as a result of proper exercise, nutrition and thought. So exercise, eat right and THINK right? We are how we think, and right thinking optimizes both our mental and physical being. Proverbs 23: 7 (Amplified) reads, “As he thinks in his heart, so is he.” This tells us even though we may exercise and eat properly, if we have wrong thinking it will have a negative effect on our results. Proverbs 14:30 (Amplified) reads, “A calm and undisturbed mind and heart are the life and health of the body, but envy, jealousy, and wrath are like rottenness of the bones.” Wow, just by thinking righteous thoughts my bones become stronger!

Listen. Faith without action is dead, so wanting and talking about starting to workout does nothing. Our Healing and Wholeness of life is in our Faith!
